Hello Effects Fans!
Yes, we’re closed, but I previously mentioned that several new modules would be announced anyway, since they were already nearly finished. So today, we announce a 6-pack of new modules! To keep this message short, I won’t go into the usual details here. You can see all the details on the pages for these new modules at our website, www.gerlttechnologies.com. Just search for them by name or follow the menus from Products -> Modules.
There is one new Amp Sim module, that comes in two configurations. The Chameleon compares to the Tech 21 SansAmp (original and reissue) and the SansAmp GT2. These pedals have been used by numerous guitar and bass greats, but probably became most known for being used by Kurt Cobain of Nirvana.
There is one new Fuzz module, the Fuzz Machine, which compares to the classic 70’s fOXX Tone Machine – wild and unruly, with a GT mod to turn it into a wild and unruly overdrive that sounds like no other OD we can think of.
There are two new Phaser modules, the Pulsar and the UniThrob. The Pulsar compares to the EarthQuaker Devices Grand Orbiter and the UniThrob compares to the EarthQuaker Devices The Depths. One is a technology and control update to the MXR Phase 90 and the other is a technology update to the psychedelic Uni-Vibe.
We now also have the Wah Baby, our hyper-configurable wah module. Yes, it took a while but we finally got around to building a remote-controlled rack wah pedal with a dizzying number of options that allow you to configure it like almost any other wah on the market, or like no other wah on the market, or like multiple (at the same time) other wahs on the market.
While we were working out the remote control wah, we also decided to introduce a remote-controlled volume module, simply called Volume. In function it behaves like the other rocker-pedal volume controls out there, but since it is remote controlled like the Wah Baby, your signal stays in the rack without going through those long cable runs to the rocker pedal.
Yes, if you’re counting, that makes 7 new modules, not 6. Wouldn’t it be nice if 6-packs always came with an added bonus? Sure it would! That’s just the way we roll here!
Sadly, this will likely be my last update for some time as I experiment with finding out what “retirement” means. Though we are closed, we are still here, keeping an eye on things, including the business climate. We still have a small number of 3U Pedal Racks for sale, but when they’re gone, they’re gone. In the coming months we may also be clearing out a few hundred pedals, some guitars and amps, difficult-to-find pedal components and parts, and other gear that has been building up for the past several years. It’ll be a bit before I get that gear listed, so keep an eye on FB and the website for news about that, probably also Reverb.
Take care, play loud, and I’ll see you at the beach!
Cheers,
Bill
