Gerlt Technologies makes hundreds of customizable rack effects, at prices comparable to guitar pedals.  It's time to dump that pedal board and get Your Tone off the floor!

 What We Do

You know them as guitar pedals

We build them as rack effect modules you can customize to get Your Tone

Put several rack effect modules into a 3U rack enclosure

Connect power and audio on the back like guitar pedals, adding connections for remote switching

Add a remote footswitch unit to turn rack effects on and off

Add as many rack effect modules, enclosures, and third-party products as you like. Plug in your guitar and amp. Rock it! It's that simple.

Hello Effects Fans!

My goodness – September is slipping away!  What happened to July and August?!?  Soon the boys of summer will be gone and it will be time to wake up Billie Joe.

I’ve unplugged my iron and am headed off to my island retreat.  This is planned to be a lengthy time away in order to better align my schedule here and there.  While I’m away, I’m still available to configure orders to be built upon my return.  No deposits will be necessary until just before I return and start building again.  We’ll figure out all the details and hold your place in the queue until then.  Of course, non-build items, such as the popular 3U Pedal Rack, can still be ordered and shipped while I’m away.  They are available directly from us and we have a few listed at Reverb.com – just search for “Gerlt”.

We introduced several great new modules this summer.  Several more are also completed.  I just need to get them up on the website and announce them.  You’ll see them as I complete those webpages.  Some additional modules are also in the design and prototype stages.  Some of these are effects I’ve put off for a while because they require unusual or specialty parts.  It’ll take a while for me to sort those out, evaluate new types of parts, design boards for them, select vendors, etc, but they are progressing nicely.

I am also developing a plan to reorganize some of the information at the website.  Some of it would benefit from better organization and presentation, untangling some topics that are mixed together, and generally streamlining it a bit.  I’ll see if I can make some progress on that between Mai Tais, but we need to be realistic here…

That’s it for now.  To get your custom rack setup configured, priced, and queued, just drop me an email at our Support email address.  While the array of options and choices may seem intimidating, it’s actually not difficult to get through.  The modules sound great without any extra options or configs at all, and most of the best options are easy to understand.

All the best,

Bill Gerlt

Hello, Effects Fans!

Today we announce our new Tres Hombres overdrive module. The Tres Hombres compares to the Hermida / Love Pedal Dover Drive.  Is it possible to capture the tone of Eric Johnson, Billy Gibbons, and David Gilmour in a single box as they intended?  Well, maybe.  It would have to be a pretty big box to hold all three of those guys and their gear, since that's what it would take.  But all three of those players, and many others, share a common element.  They build around that smooth, ripping, fuzzy, overdrive sound that is instantly recognizable.  It should be no surprise to find out that this circuit is essentially two effects, a Fuzz Face circuit stacked into a Zendrive overdrive circuit.  Those artists have been known to do almost exactly that, varying the exact overdrive portion a bit.  It works out well and really does capture that core tone.  The Dover Drive leaves out some of the controls you might expect to find in a Fuzz Face running into some overdrive circuit.  We offer those missing controls as options to give you much more control over the gain and tone in the circuit.  The original is a bit of a one-trick pony by design, but it is a really good trick that doesn't wear thin.  With the extra controls, there are more options to change it up a bit.  The extra controls aren't necessary, but to paraphrase Mae West, too much of a good thing can be wonderful.

Check it out at:  Tres Hombres or look for it in the Overdrive Modules section under Products -> Modules -> Modules By Type at www.gerlttechnologies.com.
