Hello, Effects Fans!
Today we announce our new Blue Velvet overdrive module. The Blue Velvet compares to the Pete Cornish SS-3™. The SS-3 is an upgraded version of the Cornish SS-1, which is a tweaked version of the famed MXR Distortion +. However, you would not guess that pedigree by listening to it. Multiple tweaks have taken the circuit out of the realm of raw and visceral rock and roll distortion and placed it into the realm of well-behaved overdrive. In fact, it is a very good overdrive that sounds a bit like a fuzz pedal stacked into a low-gain overdrive. It has that smooth, singing sustain with nice touch sensitivity and dynamics that makes it feel to your hands like a much higher gain drive. In addition to a nice feel, string and note clarity are great. The Hi/Lo tone stack gives you wide control over the tone range, keeping you out of the bassy mud that could be found in the SS-1 and the Distortion +. The high cost of the Cornish pedals may have kept this gem off your pedal board, but at less than half the cost, you can have the Blue Velvet in a rack!
Check it out at: Blue Velvet or look for it in the Overdrive Modules section under Products -> Modules -> Modules By Type.
