Gerlt Technologies makes hundreds of customizable rack effects, at prices comparable to guitar pedals.  It's time to dump that pedal board and get Your Tone off the floor!

 What We Do

You know them as guitar pedals

We build them as rack effect modules you can customize to get Your Tone

Put several rack effect modules into a 3U rack enclosure

Connect power and audio on the back like guitar pedals, adding connections for remote switching

Add a remote footswitch unit to turn rack effects on and off

Add as many rack effect modules, enclosures, and third-party products as you like. Plug in your guitar and amp. Rock it! It's that simple.

Hello Effects Fans!

Today the message is unpleasant.  After figuring how to deal with some of our government’s policy decisions for the past several years, I must finally admit defeat.  It is not feasible to continue operations with the latest round of policy changes.  As recently as a few days ago, I thought it might work out.  Then I was hit with business-ending tariff charges, with more to come.  To be clear, it isn’t just these new Trump tariffs that have beaten me.  Biden-era tariff changes and policies were also difficult to survive.  The cumulative effect is too much.

As an entrepreneur I take calculated and managed risks.  Sometimes it works out, and sometimes I seem to be shooting at my own feet.  But I can’t survive an economic nuking from my own government.  It’s not just a political disagreement, or differing opinions, theories, or expectations.  It’s a matter of undisputed facts, real dollars.  Gerlt Technologies’ “Game Over” criteria were met this week as those facts became crystal-clear.  I don’t like politics and refuse to take part in it, so I’ll just leave it at that.

Gerlt Technologies will no longer take new orders for our effects.  We do still have our popular 3U Pedal Racks available until our inventory is depleted.  New tariffs on metals will make them too expensive to restock, so get ‘em while we’ve got ‘em!  I have a handful of new modules that I’ll be completing soon.  I’ll still announce them when they are finished, just ‘cause.  We were already contemplating thinning out some of our guitars, amps, pedals, and maybe some components and other gear that have somehow quietly filled up all our available space over the past several years.  We may add some listings for those on the site or perhaps on Reverb in the coming months.  Keep an eye on us if you are interested in some lightly used gear in great condition.  I expect and plan this shutdown to be permanent, but maybe I’ll pop up and take a look around in a couple of years if enough major changes take place in government policy after the mid-term elections.

It has been a lot of fun!  I enjoyed meeting thousands of you along the way – always the best part of any adventure.  Thank you all, and all the best to you and yours!

Based on your feedback, we are happy to announce our first Starter Bundle!

We like building great effects, and it's easy for us to forget that what we've been doing for the past few years and seems normal and obvious to us is new for everyone else.  We were reminded of that about two seconds after we opened our booth at the Ft Worth show last weekend.  So it's time to make things easier to configure and price, and take out some of the detail that isn't necessary to sort through.

We will update the Products section of the website with the Bundle details, but we're announcing RIGHT NOW the introduction of our first Startup Bundle, along with some introductory pricing to thank everyone for telling us how to better serve you.

The Startup Bundle includes:

This is everything you need to start your configuration.  Each enclosure has 17" of space for modules.  The four included modules take up 5.5", leaving you with 11.5" for pedals and Filler Module (which together must fill the entire 11.5").

We'll get some pictures of this up as soon as we finish getting our workspace cleared of piles of show gear and can get a Bundle built.  We'll also provide the details in a new Starter Bundles page in the Products section of the site.  There will also be a couple of simple add-on options for the bundle, such as the rear rack supports and buffers for the Pass Thru modules.

In addition to the modules, you'll need some cables:

  • switching cables to connect each effect module to the Rack Switch module.  These are inexpensive and widely available.  See Switching for details.
  • two standard DC power daisy chain cables like you probably already use for your pedals.  See 18V Power for details.
  • a VGA cable to connect your 12-Button Footswitch to the Rack Switch module.  See 12-Button Footswitch for details.
  • standard 0.25" (mono or stereo) instrument/audio patch cables to connect everything in the back (like the ones you use with pedals on your pedalboard):
    • one from Guitar Pass Thru to your first effect module input
    • one from each effect module output to the next effect module input
    • one from your last effect module output to the Amp Pass Thru module

Of course, you'll also need a guitar, guitar cable, amp, and amp cable, but you already have that.

We have a few extra power daisy chain, switching, and VGA cables, so we'll throw them in until we run out (we'll let you know when you place your order).  How's that for making it easy!?

But here's the best part...

We already have a 15% off promotion going for October for everyone that visited us at the show.  Our "normal" price for the six items in the Bundle is about $1275.  (Betcha thought it was a lot more, didn't ya!)  With the 15% promotion, that went down to about $1083.  For those we spoke with about pricing at the show, that was the "about $1000 to get started, plus modules" cost we discussed.  The Bundle price will be $949 for the remainder of Rocktober!!!  We can't do that all the time, and we probably shouldn't do it at all, but since things were a little complicated to start, we want to clarify and keep it simple and affordable, which is a key part of our mission.

The 15% off promotion for October will continue for modules and other products, but does not apply to the Startup Bundle which is marked down more than 15%.

We think this will make it easier for you to start your configuration and figure out the cost to get you going.  For everything else, just take the website pricing and knock off 15%.  There is 8.25% sales tax for Texas sales, plus whatever shipping costs to your location.

Thank You !!!
