The Woody boost rack effect module compares to simple MOSFET boosts such as the ZVEX SHO. It provides a large amount of tube-y clean boost that can easily get you into overdrive.
Description
The Woody makes available a large amount of clean boost. In fact, the boost can be large enough to overload anything that comes after it, making it seem like an overdrive when it is cranked up. To get the overdrive goodness may require cranking the boost pretty high, causing a big increase in volume. Our Color Bomb boost has a similar function. It is clean well into high volume territory before you start getting the creamy overdrive that it can cause. For the same reason we added a Master Volume to the Color Bomb, we offer that as an option for the Woody. If you just need some clean boost, no problem. But if you need to push into the overdrive tone without breaking windows, a Volume control helps. And, yes, you get the famed "pot crackle" when you adjust the Boost and it is normal.

Options
- Custom Transistor - Default is BS170, but other MOSFETs will work and still retain the character of the circuit
- Master Volume Control - Add a master volume control after the boost in the circuit.
- Components - We use metal film resistors and a selection of capacitors that provide good tone and low noise.
