The Sonic Boom boost rack effect module compares to the EHX Linear Power Booster LPB-1 and LPB-2. It is a big clean boost, nothing more, nothing less.
Description
If you just need a big clean boost, the Sonic Boom can provide it. It's a one-trick pony, but it's a good trick to have available.
Configurations
- Sonic Boom - Compares to EHX LPB-1, LPB-2.
Options
- Custom Transistor - Comes standard with a 2N5089 high-gain, low noise modern transistor. These are great transistors used in several GT effects, but you can choose another. The original circuit used a 2N5133 transistor, now very difficult to find. At the time, the 2N5133 wasn't a special transistor, more likely it was simply available at low cost. We sometimes have them available, but we have to charge more for them. Not really worth the extra cost in this circuit.
- Components - We use metal film resistors and a selection of capacitors that provide good tone and low noise
