Hello, Effects Fans!
Today we announce our new Caramel Corn overdrive module. It's a fitting end to the week that began with the announcement of our Popcorn module. The Popcorn compares to the Pete Cornish CC-1, while the Caramel Corn compares to the Pete Cornish GC-1. While the Popcorn is in the money at the cleanish to medium range of overdrive, the sweet spot for the Caramel Corn is from the medium to high gain overdrive. They share the same circuit, but with several component changes to adjust the range of gain and tweak the tone for those gain ranges. While you can get cleanish, gritty low drive out of the Caramel Corn, its focus is that high-gain overdrive. With the gain turned up you end up with that smooth, gainy overdrive that sounds like you have a fuzz stacked in front of a drive pedal. You'll hear your Billy Gibbons and David Gilmour drive tone lurking in there waiting to come out. This is that really smooth high-gain overdrive, not to be confused with high-gain distortion. You probably won't find your base metal tones in either of these. Instead, it's fuzzy classic rock at the high end of the gain range.
Again, another pricey pedal that is now more affordable as a rack module! Check it out at: Caramel Corn or look for it in the Overdrive Modules section under Products -> Modules -> Modules By Type at www.gerlttechnologies.com.
