Hello, Effects Fans!
Today we announce our new Brick Boost module. The Brick Boost compares to the Pete Cornish ST-2 boost. Pete Cornish built one into David Gilmour's custom pedal board that was used for The Wall. It is almost a direct clone of the Colorsound Power Boost, but with some enhancements. David Gilmour has used the Power Boost for decades to produce his signature singing, fuzzy, overdrive tone. If you've been using a Power Boost to get those Wall tones but you aren't quite there, this may be that little nudge that helps close the gap.
The Brick Boost has the extra buffer, an extra gain stage, and some slight parts changes that set the ST-2 apart from the original Power Boost. The original Power Boost ran at 18V, providing loads of clean boost. The ST-2 and Brick Boost run at 9V. That greatly reduces the headroom, which should lead to earlier breakup and a bit more grit. The extra gain stage that is added should also contribute to a bit more dirt at lower volumes. In addition to the Brick Boost, we already have our Color Bomb, which compares to the original Power Boost, as well as our Color Drive, which compares to the closely related Colorsound Overdriver. The Color Driive also runs at 9V, but doesn't have the extra gain stage of the Brick Boost.
You can see more details about our Brick Boost module at: Brick Boost. Or look for it in the Boost Modules section under Products -> Modules -> Modules By Type.
